This Privacy Policy explains how Hangzhou Flyvessel Technology Co., Ltd. collects, uses, stores, shares, transfers, and discloses personal information when you use the BEBI Pet Tracker App and related services.

Hangzhou Flyvessel Technology Co., Ltd. ("we," "us," or "our") understands the importance of your personal information. We strictly comply with applicable laws and regulations and use reliable security measures to protect your personal information.

This Privacy Policy applies to the BEBI Pet Tracker App (the "App") and related services. It explains how we collect, use, store, share, transfer, and publicly disclose your personal information, as well as the rights available to you.

Please read and fully understand this Privacy Policy before using the App. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, you may contact us using the information in Section 12, "Contact Us." By using or continuing to use the App and related services, you acknowledge that you have fully understood and agreed to this Privacy Policy, including any future updates.

1 Definitions

  1. Personal information: Any information recorded electronically or otherwise that can identify a specific natural person, either by itself or in combination with other information, or that reflects the activities of a specific natural person. Examples include the name and mobile phone number you provide during registration and pet location data generated when you use the services.
  2. Sensitive personal information: Personal information that, if leaked, illegally provided, or misused, may endanger personal or property safety, or may easily cause damage to personal reputation, physical or mental health, or discriminatory treatment. In the App, your pet's real-time location information is sensitive personal information.
  3. De-identification: The technical processing of personal information so that a specific natural person cannot be identified without the use of additional information.
  4. Anonymization: The technical processing of personal information so that the data subject cannot be identified and the processed information cannot be restored.

2 How We Collect and Use Your Personal Information

We follow the principles of legitimacy, lawfulness, and necessity. We collect and use only the personal information that you provide while using our services or that is generated through your use of our products and services, and only for the purposes described below. If we intend to use your personal information for a purpose not described in this Privacy Policy, or to use information collected for a specific purpose for another purpose, we will notify you in a reasonable manner and obtain your consent again before such use.

2.1 Account Registration and Login

  1. When you register for and log in to the App using one-tap login, we collect your mobile phone number and mobile carrier information through our cooperation with telecommunications operators so that we can provide a faster login service. You may also create an account using your mobile phone number and add online identity information such as an avatar, nickname, and password. We collect this information to help you complete registration. You may optionally provide your gender, date of birth, region, and personal profile and choose how this information is displayed.
  2. You may also use a third-party account, such as WeChat or QQ, to log in to and use the App. In this case, you must authorize us to obtain public information registered on the third-party platform, such as your avatar, nickname, and other information you authorize. We use this information to link the third-party account to your BEBI account so that you can log in to and use the product and related services. Third-party account login may require writing information to and reading information from the clipboard where necessary to complete the login. This information is used only for login and is not used to collect your private information.
  3. After you successfully register a BEBI account, we may display your username, avatar, region, personal profile, and similar information in the App and on related websites.
  4. When you use our services, we collect your mobile phone number and mobile carrier information through our cooperation with telecommunications operators so that we can contact you and provide services during the valid service period.

2.2 Providing Products and Services

2.2.1 Pet Location Services

  • To provide pet location services, we collect location information. This includes precise location information obtained through GPS data and sensor information such as WLAN access points, Bluetooth, and cellular base stations, as well as approximate location information obtained through network data such as base stations, IP addresses, and WLAN.
  • Precise location information is sensitive personal information. If you refuse to provide it, we will not be able to provide services based on precise location information, but this will not affect your normal use of other App functions.
  • Based on the city and/or district or county associated with your approximate location, we may display or recommend information relating to your area.

2.2.2 Content Publishing and Similar Functions

When you use functions for publishing or editing content, we request permission to access storage (photos, media, and other files), the camera, and the microphone. If you refuse permission, you will not be able to use the corresponding function, but this will not affect your normal use of other App functions.

2.2.3 Search

When you use the App's search function, we collect your search terms, reading history, access times, comments, and interaction records. We collect this information to provide the content and services you request and to help us improve our products and services.

2.2.4 Operations and Security

  • To maintain the secure operation of the software and services and improve operational quality and efficiency, we collect information such as your hardware model, operating system version, International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI), unique device identifiers (Android ID/MAC), network device hardware address, IP address, WLAN access points, Bluetooth information, cellular base station information, software version, network access method, type and status, network quality data, operations, usage, and service logs.
  • To prevent malicious programs and maintain operational quality and efficiency, we collect information about installed applications or running processes, overall application operation, usage and frequency, application crashes, overall installation and usage, performance data, and application source.
  • We may use your account information, device information, service log information, and information that our affiliates and partners are authorized or legally permitted to share to assess account security, verify identity, and detect and prevent security incidents.

2.2.5 Statistical Analysis

To analyze metrics such as new installations, activation, retention, and performance, we may access the clipboard for attribution analysis of relevant statistical information. We do not collect your private information through this process.

2.3 Collection and Use Without Consent Where Permitted by Law

Under applicable laws, regulations, and national standards, we may collect and use your personal information without obtaining your consent in the following circumstances:

  1. Where directly related to national security or national defense security;
  2. Where directly related to public security, public health, or major public interests;
  3. Where directly related to criminal investigation, prosecution, trial, or enforcement of judgments;
  4. Where necessary to protect the life, property, or other major lawful rights and interests of the data subject or another person and it is difficult to obtain the data subject's consent;
  5. Where the personal information was voluntarily disclosed to the public by you;
  6. Where the personal information is collected from lawfully and publicly disclosed information, such as lawful news reports or government information disclosures;
  7. Where necessary to enter into or perform a contract at your request;
  8. Where necessary to maintain the secure and stable operation of the software and related services, such as detecting and resolving faults;
  9. Where necessary for lawful news reporting;
  10. Where necessary for an academic research institution to conduct statistical or academic research in the public interest, provided that personal information contained in results supplied externally is de-identified; or
  11. In other circumstances provided by laws and regulations.

3 How We Use Cookies and Similar Technologies

Cookies, device identifiers, and similar technologies are commonly used on the Internet. When you use the App and related services, we may use these technologies to send one or more cookies or anonymous identifiers to your device to collect and identify information about your access to and use of the product. We will not use cookies for any purpose other than those described in this Privacy Policy. We mainly use cookies and similar technologies for the following functions and services.

3.1 Secure and Efficient Operation

We may set authentication or security cookies or anonymous identifiers to confirm that you are securely logged in and to detect account theft, fraud, or other unlawful activities. These technologies also help us improve service efficiency and login and response speeds.

3.2 Easier Access

These technologies may save you from repeatedly entering personal information or search content, for example by remembering searches or form entries.

3.3 Clearing Cookies

Most browsers allow users to clear cached browser data. You can do so through your browser settings. If you clear this data, you may be unable to use services or functions that depend on cookies.

Web beacons may also be included in web pages to help a website count users who view pages or access certain cookies. We may use web beacons to collect information about your browsing of App web pages, such as the address of the specific page you are visiting, the referring page you previously visited, the length of time you remain on a page, your browsing environment, and your display settings.

4 How We Share Transfer and Publicly Disclose Your Personal Information

4.1 Sharing

  • Authorization and consent: We will not share your personal information without your consent unless the shared information has been de-identified and the receiving third party cannot re-identify the individual concerned. If a third party intends to use the information beyond the originally authorized purposes, it must obtain your consent again.

We strictly monitor software development kits (SDKs) and application programming interfaces (APIs) through which partners obtain information to protect data security.

  • One-tap login: To provide one-tap account login, a third-party service provider may obtain necessary device information, network-related information, and location information.
  • Third-party account login: To provide third-party account login, a third-party service provider may obtain necessary device information, network-related information, and location information.
  • Push notifications: To provide push notifications, a third-party push service provider may obtain the push SDK version number, necessary device information, mobile phone status information, location information, and network-related information.
  • Location services: To provide location services, such as discovery and nearby functions, a third-party location service provider may collect your device information and precise location information to provide nearby content.
  • Cloud storage: To provide cloud storage, including storage of images, audio, and video that you upload to the App, a third-party service provider may collect your device information, network-related information, and carrier information.
  • Account security: To protect your account and property, the accounts and property of other users, and our legitimate rights and interests from unlawful infringement, a third-party security service provider may collect necessary device information, network-related information, carrier information, and log information.

4.2 Transfer

  1. We will not transfer your personal information to any third party unless we obtain your explicit consent.
  2. As our business develops, we may undergo a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer, and your personal information may be transferred as a result. If such a change occurs, we will require the successor to protect your personal information in accordance with applicable laws and regulations and to standards no lower than those stated in this Privacy Policy. Otherwise, we will require the successor to obtain your consent again.

4.3 Public Disclosure

We disclose your personal information publicly only in the following circumstances:

5 How We Store and Protect Your Personal Information

5.1 Storage

  1. Storage location: Personal information collected within the People's Republic of China will be stored within the People's Republic of China. If personal information is transferred across borders, we will separately notify you by in-App notice or email of the purpose of the cross-border transfer and the recipient and obtain your consent. We will strictly comply with Chinese laws and regulations and ensure that the recipient has sufficient data protection capabilities.
  2. Storage period: We retain your personal information only for the reasonable and necessary period permitted by law. After that period, we will delete or anonymize your personal information.
  3. If we cease operations, we will promptly stop collecting your personal information, notify you individually or by announcement, and delete or anonymize the personal information we hold.

5.2 Protection

We endeavor to use security measures consistent with industry standards to protect your personal information and minimize the risk of damage, theft, leakage, unauthorized access, use, disclosure, or alteration. We actively establish data classification and grading systems, data security management standards, and secure data development standards to govern the storage and use of personal information and to ensure that we do not collect personal information unrelated to the services we provide.

Your account includes security protection features. Please keep your account and password secure. We use server backups, password encryption, and other security measures to help prevent your information from being lost, misused, or altered. Despite these measures, please understand that no security measure on an information network can be perfect.

To help prevent security incidents, we have established appropriate warning mechanisms and emergency response plans in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. If a security incident occurs, we will promptly notify you by email, letter, telephone, push notification, or another appropriate method. If individual notification is impracticable, we will issue a reasonable and effective public announcement. We will also report our handling of personal information security incidents to regulatory authorities as required and cooperate closely with government authorities.

6 How You Can Manage Your Personal Information

We take your rights relating to your personal information seriously and work to protect them.

6.1 Choosing What Information to Receive

The Following section displays information from accounts that you choose to follow. You may follow or unfollow accounts as needed.

6.2 Access Obtaining Correction and Deletion

We provide interfaces through which you can access, obtain, correct, and delete relevant personal information. You can use the following paths:

  1. Me > Settings > Edit Profile to access, obtain, or correct personal profile information, including your avatar, nickname, gender, usual place of residence, date of birth, and personal profile;
  2. Me > Settings > Account and Security to configure, access, obtain, or correct account information;
  3. Me > Settings > Privacy to configure, access, or obtain privacy information; and
  4. Me > Favorites to access, obtain, correct, or delete relevant information.

6.3 Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your account through Me > Settings > Online Customer Service, subject to the applicable account deletion conditions. After the account is deleted, your personal information will be removed from the App except where applicable law expressly requires us to retain it, such as information relating to transactions conducted through the App.

7 Sensitive Permission Statement

  1. Installed application list: We need to obtain the app-store list corresponding to your mobile phone model so that you can update the software; identify applications that support sharing images and text so that you can share information; open applications that support photography so that you can take photos; and open applications that support email so that you can contact us. We do not save or collect your installed application list.
  2. Wi-Fi list: We obtain the names and MAC addresses of Wi-Fi networks to improve BEBI device location accuracy and range alerts.
  3. Location: We obtain your location to display it on a map and improve BEBI device location.
  4. Mobile storage and SD card: We read and write mobile storage and SD card data to generate shared images in your photo album and to support avatar and photo uploads.
  5. Device and system information: We obtain, including while the App is running in the background, your Android ID, OAID, device model, screen resolution, Android version, memory information, country code, and network status to record and address issues when an error occurs.

8 Third Party SDK Statement

To provide App functions and maintain secure and stable operation, we may integrate software development kits (SDKs) provided by third parties and affiliates. We strictly monitor SDKs through which our partners obtain information to protect data security. The third-party and affiliate SDKs integrated into the App are listed below.

Please note that the types of data processed by a third-party SDK may change because of version upgrades, policy adjustments, or similar reasons. Please refer to the information published by the relevant third party.

9 Protection of Minors

We take the protection of minors' information seriously. If you are a minor, we recommend that you ask your guardian to read this Privacy Policy carefully and use our services or provide information to us only with your guardian's consent. When you register for and use products and services provided through the App, we assume that you have obtained your guardian's consent. We protect minors' personal information in accordance with applicable national laws and regulations and this Privacy Policy.

We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under the age of 13 or knowingly allow such a person to register for the services. If you are under 13, please do not attempt to register for the services or send us any information about yourself, including your name, address, telephone number, or email address. No person under 13 may provide personal information to us or through the services. If we learn that we collected personal information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will delete that information as soon as possible. If you believe that we may have information from or about a child under 13, please contact us using the information provided in this Privacy Policy.

10 Auto Start Statement

  1. To ensure that the App can receive client push notifications while closed or running in the background, it must use auto-start capabilities. The system may therefore send broadcasts at certain intervals to wake and automatically start the App. This is necessary to provide the relevant functions and services.
  2. When you open a content-related App push notification, the App will open the relevant content only after obtaining your explicit consent. It will not start without your consent.

11 How We Update This Privacy Policy

  1. We reserve the right to update or revise this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any update or revision forms part of this Privacy Policy and has the same effect. We will not reduce your rights under the then-current Privacy Policy without your explicit consent.
  2. If this Privacy Policy is updated, we will notify you through an App push notification or another reasonable method so that you can understand the changes.
  3. Material changes to this Privacy Policy include, but are not limited to:
    • Material changes to our service model, such as changes to the purposes for which users' personal information is processed or the methods of processing;
    • Material changes to our ownership or organizational structure, such as changes resulting from business adjustments, bankruptcy, a merger, or an acquisition;
    • Changes to the principal recipients of personal information that we share, transfer, or publicly disclose;
    • Changes to the internal department responsible for security, our contact information, or complaint channels; or
    • A user information security impact assessment indicating a high risk.
